Topical Reviews in Pediatrics (TRiP) is an editorially independent, open-access, peer-reviewed online journal published quarterly by the University of Utah’s Department of Pediatrics in collaboration with the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library. TRiP offers important updates on pediatric healthcare topics, concise clinical decision-making support, and guidance for families of children and adolescents with rare or complex medical conditions.
In addition to new content, TRiP draws from many contributions of the former Medical Home Portal website. From 1998-2024, the Medical Home Portal improved the care of children with chronic conditions through better knowledge of local resources and best practice guidelines. Over the decades, the website grew to provide diagnosis and management information for various conditions, newborn screening guidance, and in-depth family education to improve outcomes for children with complex medical care needs. TRiP includes archival and updated content from the Medical Home Portal and features new, contemporary topics in pediatrics.
